While you make a good point at the end of the article, you seem to be cherry picking your evidence here of the decline effect. There's a great deal of scientific knowledge that has stood the test of time for centuries: the non-relativistic law of gravity, the laws of optics, thermodynamics, the Standard Model, even things as mundane as the yield strength of steel.

It's fine to look at those few areas of scientific investigation where the decline effect has been noticed, but it's borderline irresponsible to ignore those areas where knowledge remains as robust today as it ever has been.
