The title of this article should read: "Something must be done about LED Bulb Manufacturers".

Since LEDs consume far less electricity than older tech, they're still a beneficial even if they don't last an entirely unreasonable length of time.

It's not the tech that's the problem, it's the corporate entities who prefer to line their own pockets with your money rather than manufacture a good product.

We have over 80 LEDs in our house. All but 5 are still originals from 14 years ago. Indeed, this has been the general experience among everyone I know who has used LEDs for both domestic and commercial lighting.

I don't deny your experiences are real. I'm just saying there must be more to it, because there are many counterexamples.
